Help for Minnesota's Angels

03-Jun-2010 Magnet 360's Dan Mallin was among the experts that spoke earlier this week at the Minnesota High Tech Association's Angel Tax Credit Panel. The Angel Tax Credit was put into effect on April 1 of this year and gives investors a 25% tax credit for investments in emerging businesses in high-technology fields. This is an important piece of legislation that will help Minnesota based entrepreneurs and investors alike by making it more attractive for investors to invest in early stage businesses - which will help more businesses get the capital they need to hire staff and pursue their business plans.

Topics from the panel discussion include benefits from working with angel investors, pricing an investment deal, qualifications and exclusions of the program, and methods of finding angels. View the Live Blog for more information.

Dan's influence as the co-chairman of the Minnesota Science and Technology Initiative, the co-founder of the Minnesota Cup, and as a partner of Magnet 360 has made him a key figure in driving the passage of the implementation of an Angle Tax Credit, the extending of R&D Tax Credits and the establishment of a permanent Science and Technology Initiative for the State.
