Go Social For Business Impact
Since our inception over 2 1/2 years ago, we have been actively advising our customers about strategies and tactics related to social media auditing, monitoring, listening and implementation of a variety of programs. As the media continues to evolve, so does the importance to businesses as this has gone from early adoption to mainstream. We see the next big step in social being the "social enterprise", for which Matt Meents, the CEO of Magnet 360 member Reside recently wrote on the Reside blog about the impact of this important trend :
"If you’re looking to improve your customer satisfaction scores and increase the effectiveness of your marketing efforts, you should listen to Vic Bhagat, head of General Electric’s corporate information services. Make your business a social enterprise and start now. At a recent CIO summit I attended, Vic spoke about GE’s use of a social networking tool – Radian6 (recently purchased by salesforce.com) – to monitor social media comments made about the company. Acting on insights from this tool, Vic said GE saw their customer satisfaction scores improve by 50 percent. In addition, they increased the effectiveness of their marketing efforts by nearly two-thirds and use of Radian6 led to 77 percent faster access to internal knowledge. And GE’s social strategy is not limited to external audiences. They’re using social tools internally to enable collaboration between teams that were once siloed and out-of-touch. Information and communication are flowing through the organization in real-time, driving innovation and knowledge-sharing. Impressive. And based on my experience, not surprising."
